Scenario based penetration testing is a more agile form of penetration testing than the classical model. It focuses on testing based on threats and risks, utilizing creative testing and strategies. In return, it is less rigorous in its structure. Full coverage of all potential risks is not the main goal of this test model.

Scenario based testing is well suited for dynamic organizations with frequent changes or for organizations that want to answer questions regarding specific threats within networks and systems.
